This minor is complimentary to other majors and offers basic career preparation including public, private and governmental accounting. It is offered through the School of Accountancy. Three hours from finance (FIN), agricultural economics (AEC), IE 3913 or FO 4113 may be applied with approval from the advisor. Please register this minor in 312 McCool Hall. Required: Plus any three courses: FINANCE (18 hours) Engineering, pre-med, communications, and agribusiness majors benefit from this minor. Students improve understanding of the management of financial institutions and the management of financial assets (such as personal, organizational, and governmental funds as well as business assets). Required: GENERAL BUSINESS (21-22 hours) Prepare for entrance into the world of business and/or the MBA program. Students will become familiar with basic concepts and techniques necessary for analyzing business environments, making sound business decisions, and planning one’s career. Choose any seven of the following: INSURANCE (18 hours) Insurance is the fastest growing of all service industries. In good times and bad, these services are vital to individuals and to the economy.
