The Office of Computer Services is responsible for maintaining the COBILAN network, the various labs, and faculty and staff PC's. For questions email scanfield@cobilan.msstate.edu and for technical issues concerning the labs call 325-8653 or go by room 209 McCool Hall. Lab HoursNormal computer lab hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The computer lab is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Seal Lab ReservationThere are three reservation periods for each semester or summer term. The first period extends from the first day of pre-registration through and including the first day of classes. During the first reservation period up to four (4) class periods may be reserved on any day of the week that a section of a course meets. For example, a section meeting MWF could make reservations for up to four Mondays, and up to four Wednesday s, and up to four Friday s, for a total of 12 reservations during the first period. A TR section could reserve up to four Tuesdays and four Thursdays, for a total of 8 reservations. The seven days (inclusive) following the first period constitute the second reservation period. During this period the upper limit doubles to eight (8) class periods on any day of the week. The third reservation period includes all days of the semester or term following the second period, and there is no limit on the number of reservations. Seal Electronic Classroom: McCool 204The Leo Seal Electronic Classroom (SEC) is open for students, faculty, and staff of the College of Business while it is not in use by a class (Class use has higher priority). Use of this facility requires a University Net ID. To use this lab as a classroom, the user must make a reservation with the Office of Computer Services (McCool 206). Reservations are made on the "first-come, first-serve" basis. It is recommended that you make the reservation at least two weeks in advance. Ponder Lab: McCool 205The Ponder Lab is open for students of the College of Business. Use of this facility requires a University Net ID. The lab consists of 40 Pentium 4 class computers with 512 ram and a HP laser printer. |
