Mississippi State marketing faculty topped all Southeastern Conference (SEC) schools in journal article production over the past five years. State’s nine marketing faculty averaged 8.3 journal articles from 2004 to 2008, narrowly beating Vanderbilt’s five marketing faculty who averaged 8.0 articles. Alabama, Florida and Tennessee were 3rd, 4th and 5th, respectively.
“Faculty at all the SEC schools have a mission to produce journal quality research in addition to their classroom teaching responsibilities,” explained Brian Engelland, MSU’s marketing head. “We’ve really been improving our journal productivity over the past few years, and we’re justifiably proud to be ranked number one among these premier institutions.”
Rankings for all twelve SEC schools are: (1) Mississippi State 8.3; (2) Vanderbilt 8.0; (3) Alabama 7.1; (4) Florida 6.2; (5) Tennessee 6.1; (6) Georgia 4.4: (7) South Carolina 4.3; (8) Ole Miss 3.8; (9) Kentucky 3.5; (10) Auburn 2.5; (11) LSU 2.2; (12) Arkansas 1.9.
