We wish you the best of success in achieving all your academic goals and we pledge our assistance in making your stay at Mississippi State as academically rewarding as possible. Marketing is one of the largest majors on campus. Marketing skills are necessary in any organization, and our graduates assume exciting careers in some of the best companies in America and around the world. Opportunities for marketing graduates are strong and growing. Starting salaries are very good, and opportunities for advancement have never been greater. National surveys indicate that the salary growth rate for marketing graduates is the highest among all business disciplines. As a new student, we also encourage you to get involved in one or two student organizations as part of your undergraduate experience. Recruiters tell us that, in addition to academic performance, they look at evidence of student leadership in making hiring decisions. Holding offices in campus organizations is a great way to develop and demonstrate leadership skills. We have an excellent American Marketing Association student chapter that will welcome your involvement. Finally, should you have any questions or concerns about your program of studies, please don't hesitate to ask. The Marketing office (324 McCool) and the COBI Academic Advising Center (First Floor of McCool) are both open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, M-F, to help you. Again, welcome to Mississippi State.
