Management

Curriculum | Course Descriptions | Faculty

Regardless of one’s chosen career, future responsibilities will very likely require a knowledge of management concepts. The only true sustainable source of competitive advantage for an organization is people, and how these resources are managed. Management adds value by encouraging employee involvement, creativity, motivation and loyalty. A student may choose to take electives emphasizing human resource management or general management/entrepreneurship.

Curriculum

Each program's Curriculum Guide shows the requirements for a degree in that program. The Curriculum Guide shows each required course, with most of the courses divided into typical Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. While it is not absolutely necessary that a student take each class in the semester shown in the Curriculum Guide, the student should make a reasonable effort to take classes "in order".

Management

In particular, the Curriculum Guide shows prerequisites for many classes. A prerequisite must be taken -- and completed -- prior to taking the class for which the prerequisite is listed. Each student should study his or her Curriculum Guide, and develop a long-range plan for when each course will be taken.

The student's schedule is -- ultimately -- the student's responsibility. Be sure that you understand your curriculum. If you have any questions, be sure to consult your advisor early rather than late.
