The 2017 Beta Gamma Sigma induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 3:30 p.m. in Taylor Auditorium. Bobby Kocol, former MSU Baseball player and CEO of Innovative Switchgear, Inc. will be this year's guest speaker. The Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony and Reception will take place in the Atrium immediately following Mr. Kocol's speech. All students, families, alumni, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.
Bobby Kocol has a broad business background spanning a 37-year career in multiple executive positions. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer for Innovative Switchgear Solutions, a leading-edge manufacturer of electrical distribution switchgear. Prior to that he was the Chief Financial Officer of StorageTek where he helped orchestrate its acquisition by Sun Microsystems in a four-billion-dollar transaction. As the Founder of “Epic Impacts”, he helps companies, employees, students and athletes understand the critical disciplines that are necessary in driving a successful career and/or business, while enriching their personal life.
As a key note speaker, he has delivered messages across the globe through a myriad of conferences, sales meetings and award ceremonies to a variety of audiences including Wall Street financial institutions, Fortune 500 corporations and professional organizations. Recognized by the Colorado Business Magazine as an outstanding business leader, he published a paper with the Juran Institute and has been a featured corporate speaker on Sky Radio with United and American Airlines.
He has served on the Board of Directors for multiple companies including the Alliant Group, Copan Systems, Incentra Solutions and Avista Adventist Hospital and was an advisor to the Executive Fellows Council for the Daniels Business College at the University of Denver.
Bobby received a Bachelor’s Degree from Mississippi State University. He holds a Master’s Degree from Florida Institute of Technology and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida. At Mississippi State, he was an Academic All-American in baseball where he was the team captain and most valuable player of the nationally ranked MSU team that participated in the 1979 College World Series.
