The Bulldog Business Show - February 2017

The Bulldog Business Show is a monthly program dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information from Mississippi State University's College of Business. Each episode gives you an inside look at the College's programs and events, history, faculty, students and alumni.

In this month's episode, host Jeffrey Rupp speaks with Parker Stewart, director of MSU’s Veteran’s Business Outreach Center. VBOC provides guidance to veterans and their spouses who are interested in starting a business. A veteran and entrepreneur himself, Stewart mentors veterans interested in starting their own business, and works with MSU professors to continue to receive federal grant funding for VBOC through the Small Business Administration.

Our next guest is student Michael Lane, who has created a product called MakerSync. MakerSync is a web-based management system designed to track the use of equipment being used in The Factory, the makerspace at MSU. A makerspace is an area that brings together manufacturing equipment, community, and education to people who may not otherwise have access. Anything can be designed in The Factory, from basic metal welding and woodworking to 3-D printing.
