The Bulldog Business Show - March 2018

The Bulldog Business Show is a monthly program dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information from Mississippi State University's College of Business. Each episode will give you an inside look at the College's programs and events, history, faculty, students and alumni.

In this month's episode, host Jeffrey Rupp speaks with Associate Professor of Management Dr. Laura Marler, who explains how in Management coursework, students learn the principles of planning, organizing a business, managing human resources, and controlling the operations of a business. They also learn how to develop business plans for new entrepreneurial ventures, which will provide them with a competitive edge in the business world.

We also speak with Shelby Baldwin, College of Business student and Mississippi State University’s Undergraduate Women in Business VP of Marketing, who shares how the MSU UWIB organization can provide an environment for women to be more empowered together in the business industry. UWIB co-sponsored this year’s Leo W. Seal, Jr. Speaker Series, where women's equality activist, public speaker and author Lilly Ledbetter spoke to a packed audience in McCool Hall’s Taylor Auditorium. The namesake of Barack Obama’s first official piece of legislation signed as president, Ledbetter told her story of pay discrimination in the workplace and urged women and minorities to claim their civil rights.
