The Bulldog Business Show is a monthly program dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information from MSU's College of Business. Each episode gives you an inside look at the College's programs and events, history, faculty, students and alumni.
In the latest episode, host Jeffrey Rupp introduces our new Assistant Professor of Economics Todd Jones. Jones specializes in applied microeconomics and data visualization. Given his specialization, most of his research focuses on the economics of education. Todd conveys a lot of his research through data visualizations such as charts, graphs, and maps. After graduation, Todd knew he wanted to enter the academic career field. But due to the competitive nature to the industry, entrance wasn’t easy, so he went to Twitter and began sharing graphs and visual data. He reported on a number of different topics and shared his findings through graphs. His graphs and maps soon went viral.
Rupp also introduces us to the latest addition to the Idea Shop in downtown Starkville, Haley Wofford. Haley is a third generation MSU graduate and former MSU Cheerleader. She was incredibly involved during her time at MSU. Haley discusses Idea Shop just relaunching their retail space as well as gives a brief walk through of the newest changes made in the Idea Shop. She also shows some examples of Idea Shop products that customers can now have engraved and personalized.
