The Bulldog Business Show - October 2018 Recap

The Bulldog Business Show is a monthly program dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information from Mississippi State University's College of Business. Each episode will give you an inside look at the College's programs and events, history, faculty, students, and alumni.

In this month's episode, host Jeffrey Rupp speaks with Associate Professor of Management James Vardaman. Dr. Vardaman talks about MSU's Center of Family Enterprise Research, which is ranked #1 in the world for research on family businesses. The Center looks at applied problems such as venture creation, developing and starting new businesses, and looking at personal issues and unique dynamics within a family-owned business. The Center has plans to launch their Family Business Education Initiative the summer of 2019. The Initiative's goal is to help small businesses throughout the state grow and develop their business on a larger scale. We also speak with the president of the Bulldog Angel Network, Wade Patterson. The Bulldog Angel Network is a network of angel investors dedicated to supplying funds for businesses started in the Center of Entrepreneurship and Outreach (E-Center). Patterson's goal was to give students a better understanding of how to launch and develop business while they were in school to prepare them for the business world.
