The Bulldog Business Show - September 2016

The Bulldog Business Show is a monthly program dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information from Mississippi State University's College of Business. Each episode gives you an inside look at the College's programs and events, history, faculty, students and alumni.

In this month's episode, host Jeffrey Rupp speaks with Dr. Tom Miller, Professor of Finance and holder of the Jack R. Lee Endowed Chair in Financial Institutions and Consumer Finance. A well-known expert in the field of consumer finance and the small-dollar loan landscape, Miller was called to testify before the U.S. House Financial Services Subcommittee earlier this year regarding his research! Dr. Miller shares with us how small-dollar loan markets work and how best to restructure regulation to improve borrower welfare.

We also speak with international business student Feifei Zeng, who will be representing MSU as a Campus Ambassador for Harvard University's 2016 Intercollegiate Business Convention. This is the first time that a team of students from MSU's College of Business will be participating in this globally-recognized event, which brings together collegiate and young professional women from all over the world to learn valuable business and leadership skills from some of the most successful women in the business world.
